What's the Difference Between Bonds and Stocks? - Schwab version

For this project I conceptualized visual solutions, cohesive visual lenguaje, aimed affinity for consistency with the new content that it’s been released for the transition TDAmeritrade to Charles Schwab education platform as well as designing promotional site assets to be used in social media such as Youtube and in the platform itself.

Bonds - TDA version

Created storyboard, illustration, design and animated educational content that will be broadcasted in all the company’s channels meeting style and branding guidelines.

Followed scripts through the first storyboarding phase using paper and pencil and then scanned it and put it together on PDF file, where it was reviewed and had feedback from Senior producers, next review I showcased the storyboard with digital graphics and asset to begin with animation.

Created animations & thumbnails, timed animation, added music.

Rebranded videos

Rebranded along with the team some 300+ videos from TD Ameritrade, over to Charles Schwab. Meaning we went into each after effects project file, and addressed comments that were brought up through a variety of departments (compliance, legal, branding, etc). No video turned up exactly the same, but all videos were created in After Effects and are mostly 2D animation.

Eureka

Role: Motion Designer - Producer

Series of animated infographics to teach the principles of basic physics to students from high school in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Eureka is a project that was completely created from scratch as a tool to help students acquired basic knowledge on physics, therefore I, Gabriela, developed the first ideas, research, compared different graphics styles, deciding to take the route of a 2D animation with simple characters and a storyline easy enough to follow by anyone. Started elaborating the animatic along with the script having strong principles on the TV show “Cosmos” released in 2015, while keeping simple, I created a brand called “Eureka” where the 2 short animations would live and be represented by, recording voiceover and thinking about the background music, moving along having this 2D style logo I was able to work on illustrating the graphics that would later be imported for animation, adding shades, animation principles, effects, and transitions, rendering, adding the final touches for audio, music and last details resulting in a successful project to be shown to the Venezuelan students.

The purpose of this research was to design a series animated infographics to teach the principles of basic physics to students from high school in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Likewise, the following objectives were based on: investigate the data about basic physics and can be used in computer graphics, analyze each of the sources in order to select the subject to use which ended up being gravity and acceleration, a graphic concept of the current trend design was created typefaces called flat design with simple layout to understand hand the requirement of public order and prepare the  following infographic. The design method of Jeff Goldner was then selected for the series of infographics. As a result we got a series of animated infographics that will help all students enrolled on  nationwide high school was obtained.

THE FOUNDATIONS

RESEARCH & EXPLORATIONS

The first step in making the Eureka infographic series was to show with a brief message how it was going to be explained, acknowledging not only the knowledge our target knew from before, but, just as importantly, how it would affect on their lives. We conducted a number of study cases to understand which one was the best way to show this kind of content to this specific public which was students from high school. All this data and feedback informed our initial explorations and allowed us to build refined concepts that we would take into account throughout the design process. For viewers, it was clearly important for the process to be simple, quick and personalised while instilling a sense of logic.
